A Moment of HOPE – March 11, 2013

I learned a get deal during #Strategy2014 at the Huntsville Marriott. The speakers, panel discussions and breakout sessions offered insights into Social Media and growing your online presence.

They shared ideas on finding the right voice for your brand and translating that voice to different social media platforms.

They talked about the importance of counting the cost of social media and measuring the results of your efforts so that social media is a benefit instead of time suck.

They offered up tips on creating your own way down this social media road by listening to the experts and applying them in your own unique way.

No matter where I turned, in line for lunch, sharing mints between sessions, or waiting in line to get a signed book by the Social Media Rock Star, Mack Collier – one theme rang out.

RELATIONSHIPS

In all that we do, relationships must be fundamental. People will know when you are trying to sell them something – even if you use different words. People will know when you have YOUR interests at heart – no matter how you try to paint it. What people want, and what people respond to, is genuine engagement.

Build relationships by finding your voice and sharing that voice.
Build relationships by reaching out to help others without an expectation of return.
Build relationships by being willing to shine a little light on the lives of those in you encounter!

    • Hey Carol,

It was a wonderful conference – but I am finally starting to understand that one of the most valuable things about all of the conferences is the people that I encounter. πŸ™‚ Relationships really are the foundation of it all!

    • It was a blessing to meet you as well, Mack. Your words inspired me to keep moving – and I really needed that. I look forward to building and growing the relationships made yesterday.
