Keeping a Consistent Schedule

There are days when I need a schedule to help me schedule my schedule and then some reminders to keep in on schedule along the way. Then there are those days when I know exactly what I need to do, when I need to do it and how long it each project will take. I think I have finally figured out what the difference is in those days and I am not happy about what I’ve discovered.

Consistency is the Difference

β€’ Doing things on a regular basis makes it easier to do those things. I form a habit that keeps me moving along.

β€’ Doing the things that I know I need to be doing keeps me from doing the things I’m trying not to do.

β€’ Doing things at the same time on the same day keeps confusion out of the equation. Even my family will know where to find me.

β€’ Doing things when they need to be done reduces the size of my to-do list making it easier for me to do other things.

Consistency is not really a bad work – it just feels like it on many days (or at least those days when I’m not being consistent). The truth is that I have time to do all that I know I need to do if I just do it. It’s when I procrastinate, do things with out order or just out of order or when I choose to do things other than those in my purpose that I don’t have the time, the energy or the finances to complete anything.

Staying consistent in those things that I know I need to do and following a schedule will help me get to where I want to be.

  • Thanks for the reminder. Time mgmt is my biggest struggle, and recently the Lord has been impressing on me the need to develop HABITS. Something I always tried to teach my own kids, but still learning myself! So many things we KNOW, but don’t DO…maybe that’s why we need each other (and blogs like this) to ‘verily, verily’ each other.
