Top Ten Motivational Quotes from Scripture

Motivational quotes can provide more than words. They can be the lift that I need for taking that next step. The words that I focus on and that fill my heart will overflow into and help develop the life that I live.

My Top Motivational Quotes from Scripture

    1.

Trust in the Lord with all you your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths.”

    Proverbs 3: 5 – 6

I like to determine the direction. I like to have control. I like to know where I am going. But I am learning that I usually have no idea of the direction; I rarely have control of the situation outside of self; and I may know the ultimate destination but I have little understanding of the immediate direction.

And that is okay because when I keep God as my focus then HE directs my path.

    2.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

    John 14:27

Peace – that place that gives me warmth and comfort no matter what circumstances may be swirling around me. It is not up to me to find my peace because peace has been given to me. I just have to choose to rest in that heart soothing, fear dissipating peace.

    3.

I have set the Lord always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”

    Psalm 16:8

I will never be able to do it all – and the good news is that I am not required to do it all. I need to put God first and when I keep Him the focus then everything else will fall into place.

    4.

Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication WITH THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

    Philippians 4: 6 – 7

Bring it to God. Give praise to God. Trust God. When I do these things then His peace settles over me and in His peace I can stand strong.

    5.

Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

    Galatians 6:9

The breakthrough is coming. The answer is just around the corner. The finishline is one more step away. I will get to where God desires for me to go when I continue to take the actions to move me in that direction. I have to choose not to stop and in my continued movement I will arrive.

    6.

They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

    Isaiah 40:31

The right focus will make all the difference. When I put my focus on God and I put my energy into pursuing God then God renews my strength. God gives me the energy to run. God helps me to keep on keeping on. In God and through God I can fly.

    7.

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You: because he trusts in You.”

    Isaiah 26:3

God has my back. When I keep my focus on Him then I will continue in His peace. When I continue in His peace then I can survive (and even thrive) despite what the world throws at me.

    8.

Delight yourself in the Lord: and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.”

    Psalm 37: 4 – 5

It all starts with my focus. When God is my focus then He gives me the desires of my heart because my desires will line up with His Way. When I commit my actions and my attitude to God and I put my trust in His Will then I stay in the place where He has already won the Victory.

The challenge is not for me to do “it” but for me to pursue God so that I am where He has already accomplished “it.”

    9.

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”

    Romans 15:13

A life focused on God is overflowing with hope and the overflow of hope makes all things possible.

    10.

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

    Psalm 27:1

When God is for me then who can stand against me? That is the strongest motivation I can find in the Word of God – that He designed me for a purpose and on purpose and when I walk out His will then nothing and nobody can stand in His Way – because it IS His Way that I am walking.
