Consistent in One Thing – A Moment of HOPE – August 8 2014

The last several weeks have been filled with challenges – and by that I mean I have put challenges before me so that I can get closer to reach my goal. The first was the Thirty Day challenge that only made me more aware of how little follow through I had. The next challenge was the 8 Week Health and Wellness Challenge and that one got me closer than the first (although it was seeing a picture of me taken over the weekend that helped me kick into gear in week three). Now I am choosing better with the Six Weeks to Better Choices challenge.

Today, I thought about staying in and writing instead of getting up and moving. The nine weeks have involved exercise and stretching to start my day off. “You have been doing this for over eight weeks. You deserve a break.” I was determined to convince myself to stay put.

It sounded good, and it was true after all. Not only had I been consistent in what I had been doing but I was finally starting to see some results. “Just stay in. It rained last night and you don’t want to walk through the wet grass.”

The excuses kept coming. I looked around and considered the excuses. They made sense, but choosing better is more about tomorrow than the moment.

I am consistent. I have proven to myself time and again that I am consistent. Now I have to take that ability to do it over and over and over and apply it to the things that will make the difference in my journey.

The change is happening but it will only arrive if I continue to be consistent in my consistency.

Be blessed,
