How One Simple Secret Helps You Live Your Desires
Some days I look around and think how far ahead I must be . . . only to realize it looks like I’m ahead because I’m so far behind.
Or maybe it’s that I think I’ve gotten all together just to find out someone has moved the middle.
Most likely it’s that I’ve finally gotten my ducks in a row only to discover it was all about the squirrels.
The point in all of these remains the same; I am not where I want to be. I need more – more time, more finances, more opportunities, more energy . . . just more.
I read through my social media thread today, and a friend shared how her prayers had been answered. “We’ve been praying for the same thing. Where’s ours,” I wondered.
I turned my attention to the Scriptures I read earlier.
“Whoever shall say to the mountain, “move,” and shall not doubt, but shall believe what he says, he shall have whatever he says. Whatsoever you desire, when you pray, believe you receive what you pray for, and you shall have them.” From Mark 11: 23 – 24
The Word says I should have what I desire. Why don’t I?
It hit me, Tthe Word says that when I do what I’m supposed to do, then I live in the blessings of God.
It does not say that I can sit around doing what I want to do and expect God to do it all. I have to do my part.
If you are not where you want to be, ask yourself why you are where you are. Once you get honest about your own position, then you are positioned to speak to the mountain.
Steps to Living the Secret
- Be honest – you are where you are because of the choices you make – little ones, big ones, directed by other people ones.
- Be willing – if you want to move from where you are then you have to be willing to move. You will not have the benefits of “The Biggest Loser” if you stay on the couch praying for the benefits. You have to take action – in purpose and on purpose.

Be invested – invest in putting the Words in your heart and your mind as well as speaking those Words out loud. The more you see it and say it the more it becomes a part of who you are and what you do.
The secret to living out all you desire is not complicated or hard to find. It lies in the simple choice of doing what God has designed for your life. In order to do that, you have to know what that design is for you. In order to know that, you have to be willing to invest in the Word.
When you are honest about what is holding you back, willing to make the move to change, and invested in understanding the better way, you will live out your desires.
