Make it Work – Secrets for the Proverbs Life from Project Runway
“Make it work.” Anyone familiar with Project Runway should be familiar with that phrase. The designers are challenged with impossible tasks and then encouraged to find a way to make it work. I know I am not the only mom or dad that has looked at the to-do list and thought that it was an impossible challenge that I faced but that I still had to find a way to make it work.
The world tries to make things complicated. The world tries to throw a wrench in the system. The moment I stop trying to make it work, the world wins.
Top Secrets to Make it Work

– Never give up. Keep moving and you are bound to make something happen. It may not be what you first imagined. It may not be the greatest accomplishment of your life. It will be something, because the only sure fire way to fail is not to try.
– Be flexible. You have a limited amount of resources (time, finances, and energy). Review them as the day moves along and adjust accordingly. Trim and twist things around so that you can fit them into the limited resources. It may not be what you had planned, but hit the high points and you should be okay.
– Stay focused. You will not be able to do it all, but you can do what is important. Judge your steps by these two questions: Does it show that I love God? Or does it show that I love others? Everything else can wait.
I wake up hoping that the world will get in line. I get up expecting that things will go my way. I move forward find ways to trim, repurpose, and redo until I make it work the way it needs to work to get it done.
