Nothing but Success
Success is the only option. Once doubt settles into my mind and heart it will allow me to be tossed about – like the waves – from one idea or project or plan to another. There will no longer be any steady direction to my path. I will not go there.
My senses are all locked into the prize – finishing the novel, finding the agent, landing the gig. I am putting the tools into place that are designed to push me on towards each of my goals. It is the only way.
What is on my Heart
There are times when I feel something or I know something and I just let the idea stagnate. Sometimes it is something small (like say something nice to that clerk or waitress) and sometimes it is big things (like sell the car and go to one vehicle). I will choose to respond to those pleads of my heart and follow through to the end.
Making a Change
It is time to stop complaining. Even though I am a positive person by nature, I still find myself complaining about my family or my situation or anything that might be bringing me down. The negative words do nothing to build me up and only serve to bring down the others around me. I’m going back to the basics: If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything at all. This one simple change will make a huge difference in every aspect of my life.
One More Thing
There are so many things that I know I NEED to be doing but that I usually find an excuse to put off. If I want a different life then I have to be willing to step out in a different direction. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is the sure sign of insanity. I may a bit on the crazy side, but I am far from insane. I will do just one more thing differently today.
Just do It
Reaching for the stars requires effort on my part. Although there are times when the stars do fall to the earth the odds that one is going to land in my lap is not that great. It is up to me to make my dreams come true.
-
1. Prepare – I will continue to increase my writing skills through classes, courses and actual writing time.
2. Adjust – I will listen to the critics of editors, readers, friends and anyone else who are willing to sit down and read the things that I write.
3. Persevere – I will not give up – Never, never, never!
Success is the only option. I know what I need to do to reach the place I desire to be. It is time to push myself beyond the ordinary and take hold of my stars.
