Out Giving God
My friend needed help getting some work done because of a medical crisis. I told the editor to pay my friend instead of sending the money to me. I did the work to help my friend, not to gain a paycheck.
Three days ago another friend asked if I would like a computer. A new computer was on my wish list but was not even on the horizon for me at that moment. But he works on computers for a living and had brought home some to build his wife a new computer. He used the extra components to make me one as well.
I was thinking about these two separate instances this morning and it dawned on me that I can not out give God. It may be that the blessing of the computer showed up no matter what I did with the pay for that work, but it may just as well be that my blessing opened the door for another blessing.
The real trick for me is to figure out how to pay it forward. I should be challenged every time God blesses me to find a way to pass that blessing on in some form or another. Giving away large gifts may not be in the cards at this moment, but I can offer to help someone with a new website build up content on that website. I can invite friends over that have kids out of school to play in the field in the yard.
Pass on the blessings. No matter how hard you try, it is not possible to out give God. He has it all. It is His desire to share it with us so that we can share it with the world. What are you going to do today to pass on the blessings?
