Proverbs 31 Woman Works for a Living

The Proverbs 31 woman was a working woman. There is a misconception out there that some women go to work and some choose to be stay at home wives and mothers. The truth is that every woman is working and some get paid for their job. The Proverbs 31 woman managed a home AND had jobs or businesses – she had it all. So how do we balance work and home in these days?

Lessons for Work from the Proverbs 31 Woman

    1. Make money doing what you do anyway. The Proverbs 31 woman made clothes for her family and she also made additional clothes to sell to others. Today a woman could make money with sewing for others, doing crafts or writing patterns for sewing, crocheting or knitting.

    2. Make money with your knowledge and experience. The Proverbs 31 woman researched property and then bought one that would be valuable. Today women can write online, do research for companies or even teach online classes. There are plenty of opportunities that doesn’t require even leaving the home (or getting out of pajamas).

    3. Make money using what you own. The Proverbs 31 woman planted the property that she bought and developed a vineyard. Today women can make money selling the multiplications of the flowers in the garden, offer up landscape and gardens for photographers, or auctioning off those wedding gifts that have never (and will never) be used.

Being a working mom does not require going to an office or working outside the home. There are plenty of opportunities to make money for the family with the family and from the home. The Proverbs 31 woman knew how to support the family with income but also managed the home at the same time.
