Proverbs Devotion

β€œA word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.” (NKJV) Proverbs 25:11

My friend called to tell me her mother had just died. It had not been that many months since my own mother left this earth. I found comfort in the realization that my mom was healed from the broken body the world chained her to.

β€œShe’s healed now.” Those words were powerful for my own healing journey.

I did not share them with my friend. She and I were in different places in our journey. Her mother and my mother had been in different places. The words that spoke to my heart were just that – words for my heart.

Words shared today may not be intended for tomorrow. Words that heal your heart may only rip open a wound in another heart. Words need to be shared, but they should be careful studied and shared in their unique moment and time.

Words shared in their moment will ignite the soul and heal the heart.
