Be an encouragement. Every time I pictured being an encouragement I pictured a cheerleader. I don’t why – I just did.
I didn’t picture the coach.
I didn’t even picture the fans in the stands.
It was always the cheerleader.
The more I studied encouragement the more I realized the power that the word held. It is the embodiment of courage itself. It is strength and power and possibility.
That comes from the cheerleader. It comes from the coach. It comes from the fans. It comes from the teammates. It comes from the people encountered along the way.
Encouragement can come in all shapes and sizes – which means that each and every day I need to be invested in being the encouragement someone may need to get through what they are going through.
I don’t have to have pompoms or a whistle to make a difference. I simply have to say the words and take the actions that allow another person to grow up courage.
