Being the best you provides the best path to being attractive. Your uniqueness means you will never rise (or fall) to the level of others because your design does not meet the requirements of others. The best (and only path) to living your attractive life is to be the best you.
My first diet began when I was fourteen. I had a nasty encounter with the “it” crowd that made me question everything from the pants I wore to the way I fit in those pants. For years, I tried to meet the standards they set even though my fit (but curvy), five-foot frame could never conform to the rules.
It’s natural to want to fit in, but we have to learn that fitting in is not about replication or duplication (or even imitation). Fitting in starts with being comfortable and confident in our own unique skin – or, in other words, fitting into you.
Know You to Know Better
Understand your shape – Every shape is unique. Even in nature where the same apple tree produces the same type of apples, each apple still has a uniqueness to it. The apples are similar, but not the exact same. Despite the measurements, the world has dictate (measurements which have changed over the years, might I add), your shape will be unique to you. When you become comfortable in your shape then you are positioned to make the most of your shape.
Accept your style – your style will be your own. My mom was a full-on girly girl. I was not. Not ever. I preferred to play in the outdoors with the dirt instead of indoors with the dolls. I can dress up and be comfortable, but my style is easy and comfortable. When you accept your style, you release the need to follow the trends or keep up with the Joneses.
Determine your rest needs – every person had different needs and those needs can shift according to circumstances. I have always been a light sleeper and a short sleeper. My husband, not so much. We have had to determine our own unique rest needs and meet those instead of trying to judge our needs by what the other one is doing. How much sleep do you need and what rest works best for you?
Define your nutritional wants and lines – not everyone can eat keto, vegetarian, or meat lovers. Different seasons of life may require different nutritional focuses. You have to know what your body needs and wants and the best menu for making that work. Trends will try to tell you what you can eat and what you can’t eat and what you shouldn’t eat, but you have to define your own nutritional path.
Plan your activity level and activities – it’s not about the right activity or the right amount of activity but about the activity and time, you will take. No matter how good it might be for you, it won’t help you if you don’t do it (and you won’t do it if you don’t like it). Find the activity you enjoy and then get moving.
There is more than one way to peel an egg, and you have to find the way that works best for you. It might seem easier to fall in line and follow the trend, but when you find your uniqueness and walk in that uniqueness then it will be easier than trying to do something that isn’t you (no matter how good they try to tell you it is).
It works better and works easier when you are focused on just being the best you that you can be.
