How to Take Steps to Faith Even In the Laws of the World

Taking steps of faith requires finding ways to balance the laws of society with your faith focus.

Taking steps to writing success.
This world where we dwell runs on rules and laws. Our Father supersedes those rules and laws – such as gravity, time and even death – but not just all willy nilly. He is an orderly God.

We walk in this world and with a contentious awareness of the rules and laws. The power of God pushes us forward and propels us with love, compassion, and forgiveness that could not exist in any other way.

There are moments in my walk when I wonder if the compassion and forgiveness are ever superseded by the laws and the rules?

When do I put the rules to work even if I still have faith through the situation?

A friend told me that she was hit by a guy. β€œHe did not mean to hurt me, so I chose not to press charges.” We all think that they do not mean to hurt us. After a few days, the realization of what occurred finally sunk in. She was fearful of what he might do next time, either to her or to the next person. At the same time, she was concerned that going through the laws and rules of this world (the court system) would mean that she had abandoned the forgiveness and compassion of God.

Another friend mentioned a time when a family member died. After having stated for years how the will was written, one family member received the entire inheritance. My friend debated going to court. She struggled between being a good steward over the inheritance and trusting that what worked out for a reason. She did not want the greed of the world to be the driving force over love and faith.

Walking in this world feels like a balancing act most of the time. Sometimes the answers seem easier than others. What would you say to my friends? What are the keys that will allow us to stand firm, be humble and meek, and walk in faith?

Consistency AND Relationships for Blogging Success

Taking Steps of Faith

It is time to step out and do those things that you know you are supposed to be doing. Change can be scary. Unknown change can cause you to freeze in fear. But finding faith and walking in that faith will help you take those steps without being slowed by fear.

  1. Faith requires trust. The only way for me to trust the leading of God is to have a relationship with God. This relationship comes from spending time in His word and with Him every single day.
  2. Faith requires action. No matter how much you know there is no test without action. You must step out and do in order for faith to take effect.
  3. Faith requires risk. The risk may be in this world and it may involve comments, attitudes and even actions of others in the form of ridicule and mocking, but there is risk when you step out and faith.

  4. Faith is always fulfilled. God will always do what He promises to do. Knowing what he has promised and stepping out in that promise in faith is the way you can ensure that the promises will be completed.

It takes faith to live the life that I am called to. I have to be willing to give everything to God and to trust Him with the outcome. It is easier for most of us to fall into a pattern of comfort and familiarity. Faith is a simpler path, but it is not easier.

Putting Faith to Work

Faith simply requires that I give everything to God:

  • my time
  • my finances
  • my children
  • my marriage
  • my property
  • my possessions
  • my talents
  • my gifts
  • my knowledge

I give everything to God and then I join Him where He is working to fulfill His purpose. It is a life of this kind of faith that brings about peace, prosperity and the fulfillment of our own purpose for being here today.
