Break Through Hopeless: 5 Ways to Combat the Pain
Finding what you need to break through hopeless can feel impossible. When hopeless covers your heart, you don’t want to try anything – including trying to find the hope to breakthrough.
Have you ever felt like hope was so far away that you just wanted to fade away?
When I hit that point of hopeless, I determined to quit:
To quit my websites,
To quit my social media,
To quit my speaking and writing,
To quit HOPE.
Have you ever been ready to quit hope?
You get to that place of hopeless – where you can’t see hope or feel hope or even want hope when you stop investing in hope.

You become
HOPELESS
when you
HOPE LESS.

How to Break Through Hopeless
- Have a reserve of hope.
- Have reinforcements of hope warriors.
- Turn to the hope (which requires turning away from the hopeless).
- Let go of “WHY” and lean into “WHAT NOW!”
- Reset to Truth: know that hope never allows for hopeless.
When I hit a recent hopeless moment, my son sent a text that helped me claw my way back to hope.
He tapped into my reserves of hope and acted as my reinforcements in a time of broken. But I still had to make the choice for hope to start overcoming heartbreak.
We can waller in hopelessness and wail about the pain or we can stop the bleeding, start the healing, and lean into hope.
It doesn’t mean the struggles don’t exist. It just means that we are determined to keep on going even with the struggles stirred up around us.
No matter what it looks like. No matter how it feels. No matter what THEY say. HOPE wins.
And as long as I find ways to hold on to hope, hopeless will fade away.
Are you holding on to hope?
Or are you wallering around in the hole of hopeless?
Implementing the five points above will help you find your way to hope, but if you are struggling to get there, let’s talk.
You are not designed to go it alone – and you shouldn’t try. We are stronger and better when we go together. And together, we can feed the hope until the hope wins.

I hope to maintain my hope. It can be a challenge.
Exactly – and sometimes that’s all the hope we can muster!
