Do You Really Want to Know
Sometimes I really want to know and other times I’m skiing because it’s what is expected, but I don’t really wan to know. Or I don’t care what the answer is because I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing anyway.
If I want to build my best life then I have to be actively seeking the best ways – and that means I have to ask because I really want to know.
You have to ask the question like you want to know the answer. – Gene Hendrix
Asking the Right Questions
I let a writing friend of mine read my first novel. He gave it three stars. “It’s not my preferred genre.” I had asked him if it liked the novel. I should have asked him if he through the story was tight and flowing.
Asking the right questions gets you to the answers you seek – if you are really seeking that is. If you are just asking to be asking then ask away. Any question works. If you want to get somewhere with what you ask then ask the right questions.

Ask about what not why
Your why is unique to you. Nobody else can discount your why. They aren’t in a position to define your why. You get to mark out the path of your why.
Ask others about what you are doing – and ask them within their given expertise. Opinions are like . . . noses – we’ve all got them. You want to find answers to what you are doing so you can improve how you are doing them.
Ask about them not you
We learn from others, from where they’ve been and how they’ve gone. You find your way by seeing the way of others and then applying it to your personal journey.
Ask about results not ideas
You have ideas – probably more than you can shake a stick out (and definitely more than you can handle). You need to find out about the results you are getting and how to get the results really want.

Actively seeking change
Change is constantly happening, but when we are seeking the change then it becomes intentional. It is the intentional changes that have the biggest impact.
Open to learning
You have to be open to new things and different ways if you are going to learn something you can implement for your journey.
Admitting the problem
Until you admit there is a problem then you won’t find a solution. You won’t find what you don’t seek.
Asking the Question
What do you really want to know (and who can you ask)? If you are taking a big leap, you might want to ask someone who knows if there is something to leap to. If new directions are your pursuit, ask someone that has maneuvered the waters about the best channels.
We have to be willing to ask questions to make our best way but then we have to be equally (and sometimes even more so) ready to do something with the answer.
Ask, but ask like you really want to know.
The Power of Wanting to Know
You control this journey. Unlike many of the games out there, it’s not up to a roll of the dice. You decide with each step, each intentional action, and even movement. When you get to the point where you are bound and determined to live your best life, then you will find a way.
If you are struggling to find the right steps or to get the results you need, then ask – but ask with the understanding that you will have to make new choices and take different actions with the results of the answer.
The truth about answers is that they produce change even when they answer in a positive light because they provide affirmation, new information, and inspiration.
You have to ask the question like you really want to know the answer and then dare to go.
