Overcoming a Habit of Stinking Thinking
“We think not, therefore we are not.” The line comes from a play that my son was in recently, but those words have been following me around since I last heard them. What is that is the one key that we are all missing from the path that we desire to walk.
What are you thinking?
There was a time in my home – not too long ago I will confess – when a deep sigh from any person in the house would have me questioning what I had done this time. Blame lived on me even before blame was given out (or even before I knew if blame even existed). I thought I was doing something wrong and some days it left me walking around on pins and needles trying to avoid making others uncomfortable.
“Stinkin thinkin” is another phrase I learned a while back that has only recently made it back into my daily thoughts. I learned that bad thoughts produce bad results. An easier way to work through this is to realize that if you go out looking for silver linings you will probably find them. If you go around looking for trouble you will probably find it as well. You have to have in your mind what you want to be revealed in your life.
What are you thinking?
“May the words of my mouth and the MEDITATIONS of my heart be acceptable to You.”
What would He say about the way that you think?
He would say: “How many times do I have to tell you that I got this! Quit picking it back up and trying to figure it out..The answer you seek lies within Me, not your circumstance”
Then he would remind me of Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord and lean not onto your own understanding, in all of your ways acknowledge Him, he’ll make your paths straight.
