It is up to me.
No matter what the “it” may be, it comes down to my choice.
I may want to blame my circumstances, and I can. It seems legitimate that circumstances hold me back or push me down. After all, that’s what they have told me.
I may want to blame others for where I am or for my lack of ability to get to where I want to go. It seems almost ordinary to point out how others are getting in my way. That’s what the world has declared.
I may want to blame my lack – my lack of resources or my lack of education or my lack of ability. It seems normal that my lack would keep me from going certain directions. That’s what has been declared by many of the experts.
No matter where I want to point, the only hindrance looks back at me from the mirror.
I am the issue. I am the reason. I have the choice.
