THEY have always demanded I follow along if I wanted to get along. I was usually too caught up in my own thing to notice. I did what I loved and I didn’t think about it not being the “right” thing according to the world.
The shift happened though. At some point in my journey THEY became louder than my own heart. I started trying to do what I was “supposed” to do instead of what I knew I needed to do. I focused more on being accepted than anything else.
When the shift occurred, the fear had a way in. I struggled to stand up or sometimes just to hold on.
If I want to stand strong and if I want to stand in courage then I have to release the need to be accepted by the world.
Let go of the need to conform and you will grow up the courage to do more than you could have imagined.
