Remembering the Dream Job of Youth
NaBloPoMo Day Three: What did you think was the coolest job in the world when you were younger? Do you still feel that way now?
I wanted to be a singer when I was younger – or an actor – or a dancer – I think it all came back around to entertaining. Making people smile or laugh or just helping them have a better day has always been a driving force in my life.
It may not have been a job that I was seeing, but it was a passion that I was growing.
It took me several years and many false starts to come back around to the place where I want to be an encouragement in the lives of others. I am learning to fashion words in a way that I share my heart and touch others that the words encounter.
Today, I sat through the live presentation by Grant Baldwin, “Booked and Paid to Speak.” I have also watched the replay once. He does what I want to do. He shares words with others that help them be encouraged and be excited about what they are doing.
Even though he presented the same information every time – albeit in a uniquely entertaining way both times it was live – I still found nuggets of inspiration and information (mainly because I went in to the event hungry to learn.
Maybe being an encourager was not my dream job when I was younger, but it has always been a part of who I was and what I did.
How about you?
Be blessed,
