5 Keys to Building Momentum
Building momentum means you have more pushing you along to get things done. Doing things to be doing things doesnβt get much done. Doing what is uniquely designed for you – on purpose and in purpose – gets more done even if you donβt get it all done.
You can do a lot and still not get anything done.
Busy with Much Doing
I invited all the homeschool families to come to hang out at our home. I scrambled for a week trying to get everything just right. Despite all my efforts, when the moms settled down around the kitchen table all I could focus on was the spider web above the cabinet.
My friend noticed my distraction and asked where I was. βIβm focused on that spider web. Iβm sorry I didnβt get rid of it before you got here.β
βSilly. We arenβt here to see your clean house. Weβre here to hang out with you.β
I had gotten so busy that I almost missed out on what mattered.
Thatβs what being busy does to us. It steals the joy for the journey. If you are going to stay focused on the better things then find a way to shift from busy to action. Sometimes, being busy or active is a simple shift.
- Actions never lead to failure
- Actions create actions
- Actions get things done
- Actions donβt have to be big to be effective
- Actions have to be unique to work
Actions Allow for Learning
As long as you are taking some kind of purposeful action, you are growing, learning, building momentum, stretching, and developing, and that means you cannot fail.
Actions Create Actions
Actions are the driving force behind change, growth, and progress. By taking action, we create more actions, which produce results.
Actions Produce Results
By choosing to take purposeful action and focus on positivity, we can create a better life for ourselves and those around us.
Actions Can Be Small and Effective
Little actions can be and are very effective. Little bits can move mountains, move the world, and remove an issue.
Actions Must Be Unique
Our intentional actions must be unique to us. While we can learn from others, we must find our own path and style that works for us. We must embrace our uniqueness and focus on our own journey, not judge ourselves based on other people’s ideas.
When we choose to do something purposeful we can learn from it. Share on XBuilding Momentum
Building momentum starts with taking action specific to your unique design and your goals. Purposeful action makes way for the abundant life.
Remember:
- Action never fails. Instead, it makes way for learning and growing.
- Actions lead to more actions – they feed each other.
- Small actions can create a big impact.
- Taking action on purpose creates movement, change, and interaction.
- The best actions are unique to you because you are unique.
There is a difference between being busy doing stuff and taking action that moves you into your purpose. Look at what you are doing in your day and ask yourself, βAm I busy or active?β The answer makes all the difference in the world.Β
