All Out Of Love
Do it all out of love.
What if everything we did grew up from those kinds of roots?
Put God first. Put others second. Go all in with the type of focus that ignites our passion points third.

Without Love
nothing else matters.
– Kathryn Lang

My dad use to take us on weekend adventures. It was only years later that I learned he and my mom had endured the “presentation” to gain us the opportunities (was he a secret genius for this choice).
Getting there was almost as fun as being there. We played games. We made stops.
Oh, wait. That’s NOT what happened at all. He was a get there at all costs guy. When the car stopped, you better use the time wisely because it wasn’t stopping again no matter what your bladder demanded.
I determined to make our adventures exciting the whole way. I would plot stops along the way, and pack snacks, and play games (much to the pure delight of my “get there at all costs” husband).
For most of us, we are “get there at all costs” people when it comes to what we are doing in this journey called life. We are going along to get along or because grandmother said we needed to do whatever it is that we’re currently doing.
Silly, why would you want to do that? You can do what you love doing after you retire.
I think we have it upside down. If we are doing it all out of love, then the rest of it falls into place. At least, that’s what I read in this book one time.
Going to Law School
In Matthew 22: 36 – 40, Jesus is confronted by a bunch of lawyers and law enforcers. “What’s really important,” they demand. Jesus replied simply, “Love.” When you love God with all that you are and you love others with that God love then everything else hangs on these two endeavors.
Love . . . makes a way.
Love . . . strengthens hearts.
Love . . . creates bonds.
Love . . . holds it all together.
Without love, it crumbles, fades, and collapses.
If you follow all of the laws in Scripture, but you don’t have love then you have nothing in the end. It’s even worse when you are more invested in making others follow the laws than you are in loving them where they are.
The Power of Love
I had the opportunity to talk with some friends yesterday about The Abundant Life program. I lit up sharing our vision for the program and its potential impact on others. I didn’t know the details of the way it will work out, but I love the program and I love the people. Love is leading the way. That’s the power of love.
There are no rules except for what you love to do.
– Laura Morlando

Love allows me to break out of the normal and expected and face down the “we’ve never done it that way before” in order to launch into all of my possibilities. It even helps me SEE my possibilities.
If you don’t love what you’re doing, you will burn out.
If you don’t love who you are doing it for, then it will burn up.
Love makes all the difference in the world.
Good Life Verses a Life of Love
The world teaches us to live the good life. It tells us to go to school, study hard, and get a diploma to drive our profession. It tells us to get a job and work that job consistently and persistently – preferably working your way up the ladder along the way.
Then, and only then, can you retire into your good life.
Of course, the world tells you that you should have set aside money along the way to finance your good life. It tells you that you should have set a firm foundation in the ever-changing rules of investment.
The world tells you a lot of things.
The Scripture teaches us to Love God and through that Love of God and in God, we are to love others. It is written in the Word that God has promised a plan for us that includes abundance, prosperity, and our heart’s desire. Of course, this prosperity is aligned with God and in God so it requires a close, personal relationship with God.
This life is your God life.
The world is loud. It bombards you with advertisements, news reports, and so much more that defend and prop up the Good Life plan. It makes its way into the teachings of our schools and floods the airwaves pouring into our eyes and our ears every day.
Maybe it’s all the noise that pushes us to accept the Good Life plan. Maybe it’s the promise that one day we can live in Love. But if we are going to live all that we are designed to live, then Love has to lead the way.
Being Led by Love
God desires that He be first in our lives, but putting Him first requires that we get past self. Self is a tenacious adversary usually egged on by the world. God has slowly shown me where He desires me to be and how He has laid a path for me to get there.
Will I go?
Somedays, I jump up and run in that direction.
Other days, I close the door on my hair on the way out and it jerks me down.
And then there are those days when I can’t move.
The more I lean into God, the more somedays I accumulate.
The more I indulge in the world, the more other days and those days I pile up.
My investment and my daily little bits make the difference. If I am going to be led by Love then I have to choose to invest in Love.

Read Love.
Share Love.
Show Love.
Anything else, and I’ll be stuck in the limits of others. I break free from their rules when I make the choice to do it all out of love.
