Not It – Time to Play the Game with the World
I made a request for a chore while I was pulling items out of the refrigerator. When I turned around, all of my boys had their fingers on the tip of their noses.
For those who don’t know, this is the sign for “not it.”
I’ve decided that this is the perfect time for playing this game with the world.
For too long, I’ve taken on the burden of others’ feelings.
For too long, I’ve hesitated with my words because of their ears (and for those of you who know me, this should REALLY scare you).
For too long, I’ve held back because they’ve never done it that way before.
But today, I’m NOT IT!
And in order to not be it, I have to quit!
Quit Trying to Be It
- Quit working to make it work
- Quit trying to change your God design
- Quit doing stuff and start being obedient to God
- Quit staring at the waves
- Quit repeating the lies – even in jest.

I Can’t Do It On My Own
I’ve been trying to do things. To make it work. To get it done.
Reading John 5:19 changed my focus. If Jesus couldn’t do it by himself, why do I keep trying?
Instead of doing things and getting tangled in the need to do more or different or better, I need to quit.
Once I quit doing BY MYSELF, I can start being all in with God . .. and that’s when the world will get flipped upside right, you step into your unique design, and you embrace the Abundant Life you are called to live.
