How Are You Playing to Win?
Thom Rigsby – the Unashamed Non-Conformist – asked the question, “What is the one thing keeping you from your success?”
The answer stares back at you from the mirror every day. I’ve shared that and I believe that. Today he went deeper into the idea and it challenged me to think hard about where I am and why I am here.
My family has always enjoyed a good family game night. At some point, though, my husband quit wanting to play if I was going to play. He said that if wasn’t as much fun with me because he knew I was going to win.
In my defense, I don’t always win. I do, however, always play to win. Even when the kids were younger, I played to win because when they would win they would have earned it. Now, when we sit down at the table, we all play to win.
If I am willing to play to win even against my children, then why am I holding myself back in my business?
Why Are You Holding You Back
- Do you have a well-defined destination?
- Have you determined your purpose and part?
- Are you willing to play through?
- Are you willing to give up?
No matter how much you may want to win, if you don’t know where the game is then you can’t win.
No matter how much you want to win, if you don’t know the game and your part in the game then you will never be able to win.
No matter how much you want to win, if you aren’t willing to play through the whole game then you are giving your victory away.
No matter what you are doing it will take away from what else you could be doing.
If the only thing that can hold you back from your success is you then why are you holding you back? More importantly, determine right now that you are going to take intentional steps to break through the barriers you have created.
You’ve got this, but only if you decide you are going to win.
Be blessed,
