You have to know your unique heartseed focus to take the best steps and the God-designed steps for your journey. There will be plenty of options in everything you do. Without the right focus, it will be easy to get distracted by the good or the better or tangled up in the “I should have known better” situations.
Aim to choose your best – your God choices – so that you can live out your heartseed design.

Daily Dash of Twisted Encouragement
Define Unique Heartseed Focus
I woke up determined to get it all done. I even made a list and posted it right where everyone could see – just in case everyone else needed some ideas of what needed to be done. Without waiting for help or encouragement, I jumped in and began getting things done.
After a few hours, my stomach announced the importance of a break. I sat down to watch something while I ate my eggs. My son joined me in watching. My husband joined me in watching. My dad joined me in watching.
Hours later, I had gotten nothing more done.
I should know better.
I stepped out into something I knew was good – good for me and good for the people around me. I invested time and energy in getting it done. Good memories grew up from the investment, but when I looked back and reviewed my progress, I realized I had missed the mark.
Good had taken the place of the better opportunities because there were no resources left for the better because they were invested in the good.
I could have chosen better.
The invitation to be part of something better than I had been before landed on my doorstep. It seemed a no-brainer to join. It closely aligned with my heartseed and would help the group I worked with be better and stronger for the investment. Along the way, an invitation came to be part of something perfectly aligned with my heartseed.
It was custom designed for my uniquenesses, but I had already invested in the better.
Better is not always the God purpose.
There are plenty of things we can do each day. There are even more things we can get tangled in to keep us from doing. Unless we have the right focus – the unique heartseed, purpose-honed focus – we will struggle to make the God choices for our journey.
How can you make the God choices to drive your journey into purpose?
Define Your Heartseed
You need to know why you are doing what you are doing so you know what you need to be doing. The more focus you have moving forward the more your steps will be intentional.
Make a list of your uniquenesses. Define the things that make up you.
Talk to the people that know you best. Ask others what they think makes you unique.
Review past goals and ideas. Look at where you wanted to go and the visions you had in the past (if you have kept a record). Try to remember the dreams you once had if you didn’t write them down. Think about what you wanted to be at different stages in your life.
Meditate on all these things. Take your thoughts with you into your conversations with God each day. Listen closely for what stirs your heart and ignites your inspiration.
Make a plan defined by your heart and your mind so that you can choose the directions that are God-focused and harness your heartseed.
Avoid getting caught up in the much doing. Avoid getting tangled in the not doing. Get to where you are called to be by knowing, understanding, and living your unique heartseed focus.
Have you defined your heartseed?

Quote of the Day
“If you don’t know where you’re going then you’ll never get there. If you don’t know why you’re going then you’ll run out of steam before you arrive.” – Kathryn Lang
Take time to define where you are going. Understand why you are going where you are going. Both are necessary to keep your focus on your unique heartseed and to live out your designed place in purpose.
“To God be the glory. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or think, according to His power that works in us.” – Ephesians 3: 20 – 21
Ponder Point:
The power of God dwells in you. It is through you that His power pours out to do your exceedingly abundantly. It is through you that His blessings are revealed.

If you want to make better life choices then you need to keep it simple. We have gotten good at making it complicated, but clearing out and peeling back the layers can help remind us all at the core it is simple. Life can be simple. All too often it is our stuff – sometimes…
Several years back, I was challenged by my Facebook friend, Dana, to choose a theme word for the upcoming year. Each year since, I have continued on with that challenge. Each year since, I have added on to that challenge. (themes and focuses for 2014 and 2015) It has grown up into my massive four-foot…
“You are so organized.” The lady at church noticed my notebook. It has tabs for each class that I attend. It has a section for the church service. It even has a nice little pocket to hold my bible (which was purchased because it was thin and would fit in the pocket). My notebook IS…
Seeing the silver lining is the ability to see the sun even in the storm. For some people, it comes naturally. for others, it comes with practice. “It is raining again.” My husband told me. “God is watering the flowers so we can launch our day lily and iris business.” I smiled. “The person in…
The more I have to do then the more I can get done. It seems strange almost, but the more responsibility I have piled on my shoulders then the more tasks and chores I can complete in one day. The only thing that I can figure is that the pressure to do more keeps me…
