Proverbs Devotion

“Apply your heart to instruction, and your ears to words of knowledge.” (NKJV) Proverbs 23:12

“It seems that everywhere I look, I see antique cars. Why is that?”

“You and your dad have been looking at them together a lot lately. You will see what you are trying to see.”

The focus makes the difference. If you want to grow in understanding then you have to plant your heart with instruction by filling your eyes and ears with knowledge.

Listen to the words of knowledge. The words that you hear fall down into your heart where they will grow and produce fruit. Good, encouraging and uplifting words will produce good fruit. Things that fall on the other side will produce fruit you may not want to deal with.

Get the right focus and you will begin to build a foundation of instruction that will direct your path.
