Proverbs Devotion – November 28 2013
“A faithful man will about with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.” (NKJV) Proverbs 28:8
My oldest son wanted to watch a new episode of his favorite television program, but he had to finish his school. He rushed the work and because he rushed the work, almost half of what he did was either wrong or incomplete.
It is not easy to take your time, particularly when you can see a tangible benefit to getting there faster – at least it looks tangible.
My oldest son got done with his school and made it in time to see his show. The next day he had to make up for all the mistakes and he missed out on an outing to the bowling alley. He paid for his actions.
Set your heart firmly into the foundation of God. Be faithful in the Word and with the Word. It is from that foundation that you will grow to a life of abundance for your blessing and for the blessing of the world.
