Courage is resistance of fear, mastery of fear – not absence of fear” – Mark Twain
Courage – the ability to take that next step even when the heart is beating faster, the breath is coming with more of a challenge, and the mind is trying to convince the body not to step.
Courage – the willingness to do what needs to be done because it needs to be done and not because the eyes can see the outcome.
Courage – the understanding that the circumstances and the “reality” of the moment do not dictate the results of the actions.
Fear happens – as long as I walk in this world and as long as I walk through this world I will encounter fear.
But fear is only as powerful as I allow it to be in my life. When I make the choices that face down the fear and when I take the actions despite of the fear then I refuse fear the control that it seeks.
Recognize fear but then make the choice to stand firm anyway.
