Quote of the day for Monday, July 3, 2017
“The more energy I put into something – talking about it, thinking about it, watching or listening about it – the more it will control my actions.” – Kathryn Lang
What has my attention?
I was walking down the path enjoying the day. The sun beams trickled through the leaves and danced along the plants lining the edge of the path. I watched it dance, and tripped over a massive limb in the middle of the path.
I was fortunate I didn’t get hurt. Too often, when I trip over something in my path, I end up getting hurt (or hurting the people around me).
The root was big. It was easy to see. I had still missed seeing it because I had my focus on other things. If I had been looking at the path and where I was walking then I would have been able to avoid my tumble.
I need to focus on what I want and where I’m going.
It matters. The thing that has my attention will become my driving force.
If I want to change my direction then I need to start by changing what has my attention.
What has your attention?
