Moment of HOPE
Facing Choices
You make the choices. Where you are right now is a result of the accumulation of the choices you have made along the journey.
Yes, circumstances happen, but your choices in those circumstances make the difference.
Yes, people do what people do, but your choices for dealing with people make the difference.
Yes, the road will twist and sometimes the pavement ends, but your choices in those moments make the difference.
It’s harsh to realize that what you see is what you chose.
I wanted desperately to be able to pin the blame on anyone other than me – anything other than self. I tried. I made excuses. I cried and yelled and moaned.
Still, I was where I was and none of that made a difference.
And then, I made the choice for different. It was a little choice and to anyone watching it might not mean much. After all, circumstances didn’t crumble because of the little choice. My life didn’t snap into a place I wanted it to be.
But that little choice strengthened my heart and emboldened me to take the next step.
That’s the true key to getting to where you want to go – it’s that next step.
You have to find your way to determine better and then make the choice for better a little choice at a time.
