Begin to Change the World
Being a change in the world doesn’t have to be complicated. It doesn’t even have to be big. By choosing to be all in on who you are uniquely designed to be, you begin to change the world a little bit at a time.
You change the world by daring to be the best you!
5 Reasons to Change the World
- They don’t know the Truth.
- They can’t see the Promise.
- A limited vision limits the possibilities.
- Without change, everything dies.
- It doesn’t have to be so complicated.
Change in Self Will Change the World
For over twenty years, we lived in a little cabin in the woods. The trees were huge, old-growth hardwood. Between the large, year-round creek out back and the woods around the house, the wildlife was abundant.
I had no desire to leave our space, settling into contentment where we were.
And then, a tornado landed on the house, knocking down most of the trees and sending a good number of those trees crashing through the house.
We had to leave.
For the next three years, I mourned our little cabin in the woods. I longed for the shaded nooks along the creek. I even missed the king snake that had taken up residence under the house. I looked at all the things we had lost, and it hurt my heart.
And then, I started making a list of all the things we had gained or learned because of the storm. The list grew to include people, opportunities, and blessings encountered along the journey. The more I invested in what we had gained, the more my attitude shifted.
I hadn’t been searching for inspiration for embracing change, but change was thrust upon me.
Now, I can drive past our place that will never be the little cabin in the woods and not feel like crawling under a rock to cry. I still miss those days, but because of my change in focus, I know that so much better lies ahead.
When I made the change in myself – my attitude – my world changed. It went from being a place of loss and destruction to one of rebirth.
Sometimes, our changes in self will result in these little world changes. Sometimes they will rock the whole world. You won’t know what change you are making until you choose to make a change.
A Change in Me
They don’t know the Truth.
When we make changes in self, then we begin to reveal the Truth to those that see the change in us.
They can’t see the Promise.
Changing an attitude and leaning into the Promise gives a platform for sharing that Promise with the people who are witnesses to your change.
A limited vision limits the possibilities.
If you only react to the wall you see right in front of you then you may never break through to the treasure just behind that wall. When we lean into change, then others will see how a little bit of difference creates a world of possibilities.
Without change, everything dies.
The only way to keep going is to keep growing, which requires change. Any other place is just one state of decay.
It doesn’t have to be so complicated.
It doesn’t have to be complicated because it is simple. Make your change in your way, and make it one little bit at a time or one great leap at a time – whichever suits you and your season. When you change, you make a change in the world.
Becoming A Change in the World
Society tells us that you can change it all. You can change your face. You can change your hair color. With the right amount of resources, you can even completely change the layout of your home. I’ve even heard someone say that you can become taller, not that I’d be interested in something like that at this stage of the game.
The truth is, if you aren’t happy, you can change it.
Anything.
But if you want to make an impact instead of just meeting up with the demands of societal norms, standards, or fads, make the choice to lean into your unique design. When you lean 100% into who you are and lean 100% into WHOSE you are, not only will you have the change you need, but you become a change in the world.

Everyone should, in my view, constantly seek to be the best possible version of themselves. There are a lot of ways we can do that, and one way I strongly suggest is – get an accountability partner to whom you regularly report on your progress. It is amazing how motivating accountability can be.
Yes! We need the people around us that will encourage us and hold our feet to the fire!
