Breaking Chains to Live Fearless
Breaking chains frees you to create your best life. The best news that you will hear all week is that you don’t even have to break the chains. When you step into Christ, He breaks all the chains for you. All you have to do is make the choice to not pick them up again.
When I lean into the Truth of who I am in Christ, fear can no longer keep a grip on me.

Living Chain Free
The only chains on me are the chains I’ve picked up, but man, oh man, have I picked up my fair share. He said my pants were ugly, so I picked up the “they judge my clothes” chain. She said I was too opinionated, so I picked up the “she doesn’t like my words” chain. I dictated more than a couple of the chains myself.
The more chains, the heavier I got. The heavier the load, the more difficult it became to walk – not just my unique design but any step at all.
A fun story from my Sunday School teacher brought back the truth that I am forgiven. I am not judged by man. I am free.

I let go of the chains and stepped out into the Light – much lighter than I had been moments before.
- The chains are not locked.
- They will judge you no matter what.
- I will never be good enough on my own.
- I’m not on my own.
The more I lean into who I am uniquely designed to be, the lighter I feel. And I’ve discovered that I have a smaller tolerance for chains than ever before.
I decided to add weights to my walk to help increase my muscle strength. I strapped the ankle weights on and then went about my business. It took a lot more effort to make each step, but I was getting there.
And then I go distracted. Someone called for me to help them and I got caught up in their needs. I ran around doing what they needed done. By the end of the day, I was exhausted.
When I went to undress, I realized I still had the ankle weights on. No wonder I was tired and sore. I took the weights off and I instantly felt relieved – and a lot lighter.
It’s the same situation when we are carrying around chains that have long been broken. We are wearing ourselves out for nothing until the day we realize the truth, drop the chains, and walk in our new (now lighter) claimed freedom.
The Chains are NOT Locked
The chains aren’t even whole. They are broken chains that I have worked hard to pick back up and carry. The only reason they are still weighing me down is because I am choosing to hold on to them.
They Will Judge Me
Some people will judge me because I didn’t, others because I did, and still others because I’m breathing. No matter what, they are judging. If I wait until everyone accepts me then I’m looking to the wrong place for my acceptance.
I Will Never Be Good Enough (On My Own)
I don’t have it in me to do what I know I need to do – not by myself.
I Will Never Be Alone
Once I accepted Christ, I had someone that promised to never leave me nor forsake me. BONUS: There are some amazing people around me that are drawn nearer through Christ that make the journey even more enjoyable.
Breaking Chains
No fear can bind. No doubt can contain. Nothing is going to hold us back now. Once we have locked into the Truth – that we are forgiven and redeemed, free in Christ, and called to live the exceeding abundant life in Him, then fear no longer can contain us.
Dare to walk in the freedom of the breaking chains power of Christ.
