Don’t Stop Believing
Don’t stop believing in your unique design. And don’t start getting caught up in the distractions of flashing signs telling you – no DEMANDING – that you have to go the way they say.
Stick to the narrow path. It’s the One specifically designed for you and each step is founded in the Truth of Whose you are.

Convinced to Stop Believing
Last week was rough. If it wasn’t one thing, it was a dozen. I quit believing. Well, almost. I still believed for you. I continued saying all of the prayers for each of you because I still believed the Truth of the promises.
I just didn’t believe them for me.
Maybe I had taken too many detours to be able to find my way to the right path.
It could have been that I climbed back in the box THEY had made so many times that the remnants left an impossible maze for me to navigate.
It could be that I simply didn’t listen so long that I couldn’t hear the directions I needed to stay in the place for me in His purpose.
Whatever the reasons for where I was, there I was – stuck so completely in the impossibility of it all that I quit believing I would ever be free from any of it.
STOP RIGHT THERE!
If you were sharing the above concerns with me, I would suggest we take a moment to review the Truth for ourselves instead of letting circumstances dictate them. And by suggest, I mean firmly and unequivocally demand it be done.
We need to remember the promises of God and how God has shown up in our lives or the world will convince us that He never has. If I were with you, we’d make a list of all the different ways these statements were just lies from the enemy determined to keep you shut up in darkness.
God sent Jesus to save the world.
SPOILER ALERT: You are part of the world, so you are a part of this promised Truth.
It’s important to have people around you who will remind you of the Truth and will speak the power of Truth in and over your life.
Because the Truth is the Truth no matter how stupid your choices may look in the Light. And the Truth is the Truth is the Truth for all of us – right here and right now.
The Trouble With Words
The trouble I had encountered involved words more than anything else. Yes, some of the circumstances sucked the energy out of me. But for the most part, it was the words that did all the damage.
People kept pointing out inconsistencies, misalignments, and other issues that left me in a position of wrong.
You read that wrong.
You understood that incorrectly.
You are mistaken in your plans.
Did you know the more you hear something or the more times you encounter it, the easier it is to believe it’s the real truth?
Each time I was told how wrong I was, I struggled to keep believing. When everything around you tells you to stop believing, you need to change things up.
Find Better Words
Words have power!
The other day we were watching a rerun of Leverage – The Order 23 Job. In this particular episode, they use words to convince a man that he’s sick, so much so that he starts showing symptoms.
That’s the power of words. They wriggle their way into your mind where they become thoughts that root into your heart where they grow up into your truth.
Even if those words are a lie.
If you are going to keep believing in the Truth that is the Truth then you have to invest in the words of Truth.
Does it fuel Faith Hope?
We have to understand that in this world there is wishing hope and there is Faith Hope. We want to invest in words that fuel Faith Hope because those words root us in Truth.
Does it provide peace?
If it fires up negative emotions then it will push you away from Truth. Seek out words that pour peace over your heart like a lazy river – constant, smooth, and easy.
Does it confirm the Promises?
The Word of God is overflowing with promises from God to His children. Between 3,000 and 30,000 promises are listed in the Bible, depending on which expert you ask. The words you are receiving should line up with the Promises provided.
How many of the promises do you know?
We are in this world, but we are not of it. That means we need to separate ourselves from the limiting words spewed by the world, or we will begin to lose sight of the Truth.
When we lose sight of the Truth, we stop believing in the Promises and are unable to take a step into our best lives. We lose our Light and the darkness drags us down.
When we put better words to work, we create a path that leads us through the promises into more abundant lives.
Do Stop Believing – In This World
The world honors things that attempt to taint the truth by speaking just a little off. They use almost truths to convince us that something isn’t as it is when under the Light of Truth.
C.S Lewis wrote in the Screwtape Letters that the greatest accomplishment of the enemy was to convince the world the enemy wasn’t real. And the enemy did it by twisting words.
The world says things that are almost true:
- God wants everyone to be saved, so he doesn’t limit how they get to that place of saved.
- We are to live with just enough because Jesus set the example when he didn’t have a house for himself.
- It’s not our place to judge others but to accept them where they are and to accept who they choose to be – without exception.
- We are to love others above all else.
I mentioned earlier how the characters on Leverage convinced a man he was sick. In that episode, they explain that you don’t hit people between the eyes with something or you cause their brain to send up defenses. “If you tell them directly then their mind will fight it.”
Instead, you make subtle suggestions and hints in the direction you want them to go. Almost truths are masterly crafted subtleties.
In my heart, deep down in my knower, I recognize that the words of the world don’t align with the Truth of the Promises. But the world has worked hard honoring these incomplete truths to the point that it elevates them into question. With all this world focus, how could they be that bad, right?
Realigning To Better Words
Words matter, and choosing the right words will allow you to build a barrier so you don’t stop believing. Choosing words of hope with a focus on the positive will lead you to settle into a foundation of possibilities.
Words of Hope Touch the Heart
Hope is the fuel that feeds the heart. You find words of hope in inspirational music, Faith focused cinema, and the Word. The more you fuel your heart with the hope words, the more you will find you are sharing the hope you need to keep believing in your possibilities. Hope shared from the heart touches other hearts.
Positive Words Change the Life
What the heart believes, the man can achieve. Positive words feed the possibility thinking. Words encouraging intentional action and unique pathways build up the boldness necessary for walking in this world not conforming to it.
Spreading Better Words Will Solidify Your Foundation
Better words lead to a desire for better words. Each better word moment makes the foundation stronger. A story foundation makes it possible to stand in the storms and to keep hold of the better through the storms.
This is no way to avoid the world. We are in this world, after all. Building a reservoir of better words – words of hope, encouragement, and possibility – will make the way.
Don’t Stop Believing for Anything
It’s easy to stop believing when you aren’t sure what you believe. It’s easier to stop believing when you let others convince you their truth is more real than the Truth. Get invested in the Word so you get founded in the Promises so you stand strong in the Truth.

How do you hold on to the feeling of Truth so you don’t stop believing?
Share a time when you held on to the Truth by knowing it so deep in your knower nobody could talk you out of it.
Mark 9:23-25 (NKJ)
23 Jesus said to him, “If you can? All things are possible to him who believes.”
24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!”
We all struggle with unbelief and with the demons who try to persuade us to not believe. Prayers for your belief – and unbelief.
Sometimes I think it’s like flying, you believe you are going to get to your destination but when turbulence rocks the plan, you struggle to hold on to that belief!
