Developing daily gratitudes creates a forward-focusing, positivity-harnessing vision. It will get you through the tough times. It will anchor you in the storms. It will help you find the Way when before there seemed to be no way.
Investing daily in gratitude will create an attitude of gratitude – or said differently, it helps you shift your perception to one of possibilities instead of problems and serves as a way for feeding the hope (and you need to feed if you are going to keep it alive).
If you are going to power up your hope then you need to be invested in daily gratitudes.
5 Paths to Daily Gratitudes
A gratitude journal is simply a place to record daily thanksgivings and gratitudes. It can be an actual journal, an online document, a note in your phone, or a combination of all three. As long as it gives you a place to keep a record of your thanks, then it is the right place for you.
A gratitude jar provides a place to drop in written gratitudes. It can be something your whole family uses, that you prefill with gratitudes to draw on when you are having a bad day, or a way to gather gratitudes to give as a gift.
Choose a gratitude challenge that will push you to be more invested in finding or sharing gratitudes. I have several friends that start the year attempting to share one gratitude a day on social media. Another strives to share one thank you note a week. As long as it pushes you to take your gratitude to the next level then consider jumping into that challenge.
Writing out a few gratitude affirmations – commitments to find gratitude in your day or words that stir gratitude in your heart – will help you build a daily habit of gratitude.
Prayers focused on thanksgiving and gratitude shift your perception to hope and possibility and anytime you can shift your perception to hope (and keep it there) the bolder you become in pursuit of that hope.
Invest in daily gratitudes so that you have a habit of hope to guide you through each day.
