Proverbs Devotion – December 11 2013
“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” (KJV) Proverbs 11:14
You will never get what you want if you never know what you want. Without a specific direction, you are just wandering around hoping to stumble over the desired destination. You need steerage to reach the finish line.
It starts with a plan.
I have been to meetings when nobody invested the time in planning the events. It was just a bunch of voices trying to be heard. Nothing was accomplished and most of us came out of the meeting more frustrated than when we arrived.
I have been to meetings when the event was planned out to the minute. Items were addressed. Agendas were met. Voices were given the appropriate time to be heard. We did not get all that we wanted, but we left feeling as though something was accomplished.
Make a plan – invest in creating steerage, some way to manage the ropes of the voyage – and when the plan has been established then take the steps necessary to follow through.
