Weekly Devotional May 28, 2017 – Promise for the Devoted Heart
“Oh fear the Lord, you His saints. There is no want in those who fear him.” – Psalm 34:9
Reverence – deep respect and regard; a gesture of deep respect and awe.
The use of fear in many of the Scriptures is this deep respect and regard for God. I am called to have reverence for Him, for His Word, and for His direction, so much so that it supersedes my own personal wants and desires – or better yet, it BECOMES my personal wants and desires.
I come to this place of reverence when I invest in knowing Him. I grow up to a place of understanding who He is and what He has done. The more I invest in this knowledge, the more I grow in “fear” or reverence.
The one that develops an intense, pious regard for God will never be in want or need of anything.
