Proverbs Devotion – November 26 2013
“As a door turns on its hinges, so does the lazy man on his bed.” (NKJV) Proverbs 26:14
Day three of Operation Get Up At 5 AM did not go well. I could blame the weather; nothing quite like the sound of falling rain to make me want to hide out under the covers. I could blame the cold; I am almost certain I could feel the chill of the wind seeping in through every nook and cranny. None of it kept me from getting out of bed. It was just an excuse not to do what I had committed to do.
If I want to go somewhere then I have to do something, even when that something is not comfortable, convenient or my first choice. Excuses will come up. Reasons will evolve. Hindrances will swarm. Until action becomes the priority, I will simply swing around on my hinges.
